Abstract
-
The effects of immigration on unaccompanied minors has become a topic of significant interest globally since the start of the 20th century. By outlining the risk factors that render minors who migrate vulnerable, as well as ascertaining the pre, per, and post migratory physical, cognitive, social, and behavioral consequences of such traumatic events, more effective interventions can be implemented to better the lives of these children. This presentation will serve as an overview of some main findings on how unaccompanied migration in youth impacts individuals’ development.
