Abstract
-
Reflecting the new normal of our lives since the COVID-19 pandemic, the artwork tackles the rise in femicides since 2020, criticizing the neglect and habitual ignorance of this issue. With generations raised preaching "Τα εν οίκω μη εν Δήμω", is it surprising that femicides have surged? When women face abuse and fear for their safety, where can they turn? When this work began, I hoped the number of victims would not increase; sadly, it did. Though I cannot change the past, I want to believe that my mother's and my weaving honored the women lost too soon.
