My drawing encapsulates the political aesthetic that characterises the Theban play "Antigone". In a modern courtroom, filled with blinding cameras and people looking for answers, Antigone remains silent, not wanting to provide any explanation to the press of the crime she had committed (which was burying her brother, a traitor of their city). This artwork ultimately presents Antigone's resilience and pride.
This creative project includes the rewriting of Eric Carle's picture-book "The Very Hungry Catepillar". The original tells the story of a very hungry catepillar and its quest to find food to eat. The catepillar succesfully finds food and, upon growing and forming a coocoon, transforms into a beautiful butterfly. My rewriting of "The Very Hungry Catepillar" takes this story to a completely different level, developing awareness in youth about climate change and the need to take action to save the planet and its inhabitants. In my story, the same catepillar has the same quest of finding food, but however finds none, as the earth has now become overpopulated with waste and trash. Since the catepillar has nothing to eat, he cannot turn into a beautiful butterfly.
This project explores the intersection of photography and artificial intelligence to examine identity in the digital age. Through the concept of a fragmented digital mask, it reflects how individuals construct and perform versions of themselves online while concealing their authentic identities. The work highlights the tension between human emotion and technological mediation, questioning whether AI-enhanced art diminishes or transforms human expression. Using visual distortion and light, the project symbolizes the loss of individuality and the influence of societal expectations, ultimately inviting viewers to reconsider what it means to be human in an increasingly digital world.
My creative project is a short, sarcastic video that explores the concept of a smart home within the Internet of Things (IoT). Through exaggerated scenarios, it highlights how technology designed for convenience can become invasive and controlling. The project reflects key course themes such as privacy, digital surveillance, and the psychological impact of constant monitoring. By presenting a dystopian yet humorous perspective, the video encourages viewers to question the balance between technological advancement and personal autonomy, ultimately prompting critical reflection on whether such innovations truly improve our lives or limit our freedom.
Interactive simulacrum of Ancient Greek funerary rites with a plea for those who are addicted to euphoria. Inspired by the used needles that litter our streets.
The project is a video that explores data privacy awareness amongst Gen Z and Millenials, created through street interviews. It investigates how the younger generations understand, perceive and behave in regards to their personal data, highlighting gaps in knowledge and misconceptions. Using the street interview style, the project captures authentic and unfiltered opinions on trust, data misuse, and the privacy - convenience trade off. It bridges the gap between high level academic discussions on data privacy to real world perspectives. The video attempts to be both informative and engaging, using humour and honest responses to encourage the viewers to reflect upon their own data privacy habits.
"Wait for me, Grandmother" is an audiovisual retelling of Charles Perrault's "Little Red Riding Hood" that challenges the tale's long-standing tradition of shifting moral blame onto its female protagonist. Responding to Perrault's erasure of the heroine's inner life, the film foregrounds her intuition through a first-person perspective, proposing that her decision to go into the woods was a product of survival instinct.
The “Serious News Broadcast" is a multimodal project that satirizes media coverage in the U.S, most notably referencing biased or propagandistic news outlets. The broadcast focuses on American political events from January 2026: Donald Trump’s capture of the Venezuelan president, ICE raids, and the U.S.’s attempt to obtain Greenland. These events were selected for being controversial, especially regarding their reframing by conservative news outlets; the news reporters are mediums of political critique and journalistic biases who often lack decorum in their reporting. The script’s development was inspired by satirical archetypes and works discussed in our course.
A Sci-Fi twist to the beloved story of Cinderella. Ella is a Cynder Gen 5 Model, the most advanced female robot on the market, created by none-other than FairyTale & Co. Certain of these models start to go rogue, almost as if they develop a conciousness. Those are known as “Gen Libres”. Ella starts of as a loving partner to Henry who has made her unaware of her true machine like nature. Soon she discovers the truth, and plans her one way ticket to freedom.
A satirical presentation that subverts rhetoric and justifications for state legitimacy and enforced marginalization through a retelling of Shrek (2001) from the lens of a representative of the film’s antagonists. Taking inspiration from A Modest Proposal and the systemic marginalization of Native Americans, this work employs irony and absurdity to retell the movie through the perspective of a propagandist making calls for justice and acceptance for state violence and the removal of autonomy for the ‘other’. This work deconstructs discourse around ‘civilization’ and ‘savagery’, the conflation of legality and morality, and nationalism as the exaltation and normalization of state violence.
