I reimagined the Snow White fairytale as a sculpture that continues the story after its end. Inheriting the magic mirror, Snow White tries to destroy it to prevent future harm, unaware that she’s releasing the dark force within. This entity offers a poisoned apple, symbolizing society’s toxic beauty standards. The mirror once drove her stepmother’s obsession with beauty, and even when shattered, its ideals persist. The piece critiques how women still feel pressured to conform—through makeup, dieting, or surgery—despite recognizing these standards as harmful. Though the mirror is broken, the allure of the “perfect” image continues to tempt us.
“Whispers from the Attic” is a contemporary transformation of the Grimm Brother’s “Snow White” reimagined as a psychological thriller. Inspired by a class discussion on the fairytale’s symbolic mirror and necrophiliac undertones, the story critiques the deceptive nature of social media. The antagonist embodies both the prince and the evil queen, reinforcing the danger of curated online personas. Through Ava Snow’s harrowing discovery of Alex Thorn’s dark secret, the narrative exposes the illusion of perfection in digital spaces. Blending horror with social commentary, the story underscores the contrast between reality and perception, emphasizing the power of truth and genuine relationships.
Showcasing the juxtaposition between Antigone from antiquity and contemporary Antigone, this short film aims to unmask the independence, femininity, promiscuity and power posed by a timeless ‘Antigone.’ This Antigone is one who transcends from her actions and morals and feels liberated, autonomous and jovial. Left to the interpretation of the viewer, this short film that switches from a tragic monologue to a passionate modern Antigone embodied by Patti Smith in the background poses the following question to the viewer: Are we each a different version of Antigone, seeking to escape the norm and achieve our own sense of justice?
It is a video involving two characters (both played by me); a modern antifeminist woman, and a suffragette of the 20th century that has accidentally time traveled and ended up in the antifeminist’s house. After the sudden appearance, there is a brief discussion between the two characters, with the suffragette being elated about the freedom women have gained, and the antifeminist thinking that she is crazy and accusing her of being feminist. The video ends with the suffragette running away, claiming that there are some people she needs to meet (the feminists). It is a sketch meant to highlight the irony of women being antifeminist, and the phenomenon of women taking the freedom they have in this day and age for granted.
Young artists rely on commissions to build their CVs and generate income. However, the existing social media platforms for selling artwork have significant challenges, including unfair algorithms, payment issues and lack control. These problems create an unsafe commission process that is unreliable for both artists and buyers. The concept website Technes provides solutions to these problems. Technes removes like-based popularity systems to ensure fair exposure. Artist bios are kept minimal and optional, listing only basic information to reduce bias. Artists have full control over their work arrangement, pricing, and commission availability. Transactions occur in a secure chat-based system that synchronizes payment with artwork delivery.
The Vlepsis app is a digital-first solution seeking to bridge the communication gap
and increase transparency in the developing process. The platform provides real-
time project tracking, milestone notifications, visual updates, direct messaging
between buyers and developers and on-demand on-site meetings with the
developers. We are aiming for a centralized document management system,
integrated with structured updates to ensure buyers of unfinished assets will
remain informed throughout the construction process.
The app’s aims are to increase trust in the real estate market, make off-plan
investments, a common occurrence in Greece, a safer option and ultimately,
uphold the industry to higher standards.
This project employs Design Thinking and Innovation Management principles to address the challenges faced by neurodivergent students within the Greek secondary education system; ICANOI, a digitized non-profit organization, aims to improve the educational experiences of neurodivergent students through advocacy, research, and community awareness. Overall, this project aims to demonstrate how Design Thinking, commonly used developing profitable products, can be effectively applied in social contexts to improve the lives of marginalized groups.
The chaos that politics unleashes upon a person’s inner world, presented in an experimental short film that focuses on the biological reactions to conservative and liberal views, cognitive dissonance and more.
We molded a modern version of Plato’s allegory of the cave out of clay. The sculpture demonstrates that each person’s brain represents a cave that they ought to escape from in order to find the truth and not rely on misinformation. The sculpture shows a classroom, whereas the wooden hand that is outside of the brain represents the main fields that influence one’s character: education, religion and politics. Strings hanging from the hand represent different types of information passed on the students and are colored blue (liberal) and red (conservative) to focus on the political scene in the United States.
