The present work explores gender differences in parent-adolescent conflict, with emphasis on frequency of conflict, popular conflict topics, and common resolution strategies. Overall, male adolescents experience more frequent conflicts than females. Boys usually argue over academic performance and lifestyle, whereas girls tend to quarrel more about issues concerning their behavior, autonomy and appearance. Boys employ conciliation methods and avoidance, while girls resort to third-party interventions, assertion, and avoidance when quarrelling with both parents. Patterns vary across culture and age. Finally, conflicts help transform parent-adolescent relationships, contributing to renegotiation of boundaries, emotional growth and autonomy within a supportive family dynamic.
My project is about redesigning the well-known system called YouTube, which has become a big part of our lives, as it is used for entertainment, education and even social purposes. Since there can always be room for improvement, even for one of the most established websites, I proposed a redesign of YouTube, which aims to improve some of its features, like for example how user-friendly it is for the content creators, and whether there could be some room for more user freedom in terms of customization. To achieve the redesign, I used the usability engineering life cycle process, which is a structured framework consisting of a series of stages and corresponding activities, some of them being evaluation and analysis of the current system, and design and prototyping for the redesigned system.
The work submitted was created as a midterm project in the Sculpture II (Prof. Irini Miga) course and is inspired by the principles of the Arte Povera movement, meant to reflect on current sociopolitical issues. I chose to deal with the Tempe train crash, creating my sculpture as a tribute to the 57 lives lost in the collision and as my way of dealing with the tragedy. Taking inspiration from the movement’s core principles, I used found materials relating to the concept, such as gauze, newspaper clippings -57 to be exact, one for each victim- charred fabric scraps and, most importantly, cement.
“Best of Both Worlds” is a 50x70 cm painting with acrylics on canvas. It portrays a pile of toys, consisting of figures, plush toys and other objects in a busy, colorful and chaotic composition. Somewhere amongst the pile, I inserted my self-portrait, looking up at the viewer. This way, I become part of the fantasy world of video game toys. It is a project which describes a collage of different images that takes place in my favorite comfort space, which is my room. It is an artwork honoring childhood memories and nostalgia.
This installation not only highlights the cycle of decay and rebirth but also draws a direct connection to the concept of recycling in nature. This process mirrors how ecosystems continuously repurpose matter, ensuring nothing is truly wasted. The artwork becomes a living, evolving entity, demonstrating how decomposition is not an end but a transition—where decay gives rise to new organisms, seemingly emerging from nothing. Through this, the project emphasizes the unseen yet essential role of natural recycling in sustaining life. In the end, it's a reflection on how life changes, with every ending leading to a new beginning. Decay is not an ending, but a vital, ongoing evolution.
In this artwork, I explore identity, personal growth and emotional contrast through bold color combinations and other collage-like painted elements. Using self-photography as a base, I created 2 portraits, 1 calm and introspective, the other playful and social. Reflecting different facets of myself. Through expressive brushstrokes, layered compositions, and contrasting tones, I highlight the tension between introversion and the need to adapt in social places. The use of mismatched colors symbolizes change and the discomfort of growth, but I also picked those specific ones to embrace that I grew out loving them even though I remember disliking orange, green, brown as a teenager, I only liked blue and black. But here we have a combination of both juxtaposing symbolizing again change and adaptation.
Gestures are essential in communication, yet their role in comprehension is understudied. This study explores how gestures could aid understanding in English as a foreign language, as well as a potential link between gestures and anxiety when using a foreign language in class. Gesture perception and production and foreign language classroom anxiety were measured via an online questionnaire with a hundred ACG-Deree undergraduate students. The results showed that gestures aid comprehension, especially when communication is compromised. Although students lack confidence when speaking in class, they do not experience anxiety; therefore, no correlation was found between gesture use and classroom anxiety.

I created a website that sells flowers, accessories for gardens, fertilizers and more. The user can login or register or checkout as a guest. The logged in users can view and edit their profiles, view their shopping card, view their order history, make an order, and rate. The staff can also edit the product, and the owner can also delete a product, add a product and register staff. They can search for products through the search bar or to use the categories and subcategories.
