Exploring the leading risk factors of forced migration and the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial characteristics of unaccompanied migrant children. The effects of immigration on unaccompanied minors has become a topic of significant interest globally since the start of the 20th century. By outlining the risk factors that render minors who migrate vulnerable, as well as ascertaining the pre, per, and post migratory physical, cognitive, social, and behavioral consequences of such traumatic events, more effective interventions can be implemented to better the lives of these children. This presentation will serve as an overview of some main findings on how unaccompanied migration in youth impacts individuals’ development.

Οδός Ονείρων (Street of Dreams)This is a portrait of my Grandfather, surrounded by different kind of fruits representatives of his garden and symbols to our connection and his own life and persona. I wanted to use color as a temporal element. The subject’s body is colorless underlying the temporality of human flesh. However, the eyes remain colorful and detailed ,conveying “ the mirror to his soul” with all the burdens , the happiness and the nostalgia of an entire life. The oil branch on the right is the symbol of Crete , where he was born and raised . It is also translated as peace, justice that he achieved after the unfortunate early years of his past . On the other side, the pomegranate tree symbolizes those hardships of war ,neglect and abuse. The rotten fruit seem to "stain" him still .On the top, figs and grapes represent , knowledge and transformation, because he was forced to take the responsibility to “raise himself“ without absorbing the corruption of the abusive years in orphanage. His garden is located in “Οδός Ονείρων”( ‘Street of dreams’) –he, himself named that street- . And apart for being symbols ,the fruits also highlight our relationship; since I can remember myself ,I was spending my summer days watching him growing his garden and me with love. A simple, grounding love that offered me these mental images to cherish forever.

Amy Coney Barrett and the Potential for a More Independent and Ideologically Moderate US Supreme CourtThis paper explores Justice Amy Coney Barrett's independence and ideological inclinations during the 2021-22 and 2023-24 SCOTUS terms. Instigated by recent media coverage reporting on an increasingly independent and moderate Justice Barrett, it explores the validity of those claims, which can prove significantly consequential considering that her confirmation fulfilled a Republican goal of cementing a conservative supermajority on the high Court. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, this study employs voting alignment analysis and an innovative application of OpenAI’s large language model (LLM) and the probabilistic analysis of the Bradley-Terry model, to explore changes in Barrett’s jurisprudence. Results indicate a significant increase in Barrett’s alignment with liberal justices and, from a textual comparison of judicial opinions by OpenAI’s API, a marked rise in independence from ideological partisanship, distinguishing her from her conservative colleagues, and a measurable ideological moderation, with Barrett emerging as a critical player in the Supreme Court's dynamics.

Feminist Theory and the United Nations: How Effective is the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Agenda? The Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda was established by the United Nations Security Council through Resolution 1325 in 2000, and has been promoting gender equality in peace and security efforts. Since then, the essential role of women in peacebuilding has been recognized and with main aim to protect women from gender-based violence. Many countries have adopted NAPs to prioritize women’s rights in their security strategies. This research paper uses the Feminist Theory that aligns with the WPS agenda goals and addresses significant gaps that need to be studied more. Western countries like Norway, the UK, and Australia have effectively used NAP but scholars still argue that it is not efficient enough and their agenda lacks strong enforcement mechanisms, especially in conflict zones. There are positive and negative aspects about this agenda according to scholars, so it is important to progress this agenda more by starting to focus on refugee women and take the Afghanistan case as an alarming warning. WPS agenda needs to become more inclusive and not Western-based, limiting third world countries. The progress so far is significant, but governments need to have a stronger commitment toward this agenda and protect their female citizens.

The Moderating Role of Gender on the Relationship between Ambivalent Sexism, Gender Roles and Psychological EntitlementSexism and traditional gender norms perpetuate inequality, with psychological entitlement (PE) linked to sexist attitudes, varying by gender and type of sexism. Grounded in ambivalent sexism theory, this study examined how PE and masculine norms relate to hostile (HS) and benevolent sexism (BS) in men and women. Among 44 college students (Mage=20.7; 54.5% women), men showed positive correlations between PE, masculine norms, and both HS and BS, while women exhibited only a BS-PE link. Findings suggest entitlement and norms reinforce sexism differently across genders, with men displaying broader endorsement. Limitations include small sample size and self-report measures. Future research should expand samples and incorporate implicit measures to inform interventions.

Geopolitical Influences on ECtHR Attitudes: The Changing Narrative of Syrian Refugee CasesThis study analyzes language in ECtHR judgments to investigate attitudes towards Syrian refugees during the refugee crisis. By examining keyword usage in fifteen cases across three time periods, it explores the correlation between positive, negative, or neutral language and the Court’s evolving stance on refugees' rights. The research aims to identify a linear shift in vocabulary, shedding light on how the Court's attitudes toward refugees may have changed over time. This analysis fills a gap in existing literature, offering insights into the role of language in reflecting attitudes towards refugee rights protection.

Entitled Students and Rule Unfairness: Predicting Rule Violation in ACGThis study examined the relationship between psychological entitlement and academic rule violation among college students, differentiating between exploitive and non-exploitive entitlement. A total of 100 undergraduates participated via an online survey. The results indicated that exploitive entitlement was positively associated with rule violation, a relationship which is partially mediated by how fair the rules are perceived to be. Conversely, non-exploitive entitlement was linked to a significantly lower frequency of guideline violations. These findings provide insight into understanding the psychological mechanisms contributing to deviant behavior in an academic context, possibly applicable in policy development and enforcement.
